"Just the Girl" by The Click Five... A Music Video

For our Media Aesthetics class, myself and two other talented young ladies were asked to pick a song and write and produce a music video to present to the class. Using a Nikon 1 camera, we shot this whole thing in about two days and finished a rough cut in one day. We enjoyed working with our friends Kelsey Conklin and Esteban Mendizibal who have been dating ever since.

Sermon on the Mount... A Music Video

For a Bible literature class, these girls were asked to come up with some creative way of teaching Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). Together, these girls wrote new lyrics to Eminem's Lose Yourself. I was asked to write up and produce a music video for these girls to present to their class, so this is the product of that.

Smart-Pacino Engagement... A Wedding Announcement

My friends are getting married! Long time friends and eternal partners Weston Smart and Katy Pacino are finally tying the knot this July. Everything about them is unique and different, so why go with a traditional engagement announcement when they can do something more creative? The future Mrs. Smart came to me and asked me if I could help them put together an engagement video that commemorates all the important things about them as individuals and them as a couple. I am so blessed to have been asked to capture this beautiful relationship, one that will last more than a lifetime. Congratulations to you two!

Snow Trip 2012... A Highlight Video

My church hosts retreats for junior high schoolers at a church member's cabin in the snow. With the help of their youth leader, Namra, they get to play outside, go snowboarding and skiing, and celebrate life with each other. This video commemorates their 2012 Snow Trip.

Parable Presentation: The Hidden Treasures... A Digital Short

A couple of years ago, a group of us were asked to find a creative way to tell the parable of the hidden treasures from the book of Matthew in the Bible. Our target audience was rich, American men. We decided to take the theme to the corporate world and compare how in God's kingdom, it is not titles, income, achievements, or skills that get you in.

Episode X: Expansion... A Short Documentary

Fresno Pacific University is a medium-sized private school in the heart of the central valley in California. Over the last couple months, myself and my team investigated the changes our school has experienced as it has grown. As a project for a leadership class, we interviewed several different people, including students, faculty, and staff from across the board about what they see as challenges the school is facing and how we can possibly overcome it.

In addition, we had been using Star Wars as a metaphor for understanding a passage in the Bible. That has been incorporated into our video. Take a look.

"Fix You" by Boyce Avenue (feat. Tyler Ward)... A Music Video

The idea for this project came to me through several different tracks. First of all, if you know me, you know I love music. Second, I am a very, very visual learner—that just means that themes and stories make more sense to me if I can see them happening. That’s why I love movies so much. I discovered last semester that I absolutely loved scriptwriting. Writing has always been a big part of my life—from research papers to short narratives. And now, my visual learning style and my love for writing have found their happy medium.

The story I’ve depicted isn’t one that I know firsthand, but the meaning behind what you’re going to see means everything to me. We live in a broken world where broken people work to live broken lives. Something that I definitely struggle with is trying to fix things. By any means, I want harmony. Whether that’s between you and me, you and her, her and him… harmony is desired. I bet we can all agree that we want that, but in my case (and I’m sure in some of yours, too) that need is very persistent. At the end of these struggles, I always find myself coming back to God and wondering why I couldn’t fix it. I know now, through everything that I’ve been through in my life, two things: one, I don’t have to fix it and two, I can’t fix it. Besides, I need my own fixing, so I’ll leave that up to God, and not give up on anyone else.

The actual music video runs for about 4-5 minutes and the last half is bloopers.
